Rosenthal at his best

We bought this for 'Eskimo Day' - a rite of passage story of children leaving home for University, and how the two sets of parents react. It is a brilliant, highly perceptive script superbly acted by a very famous cast. 'Cold Enough for Snow' likewise. We have not yet watched the other films in the set, though we remember two of them from the BBC productions, and we enjoyed them then. We absolutely loved this collection of plays. They are funny and poignant, have engaging characters , and are a great piece of social history. The introduction to each play, by Jack Rosenthal's wife Maureen Lipman, is interesting too, giving insight into the writing and production of the plays.Read full review

Good collection of discs

Have watched Barmitzvah Boy, Eskimo Day and the follow up.
All great wholesome entertainment even 2nd time round when I am much older. Now have grown up children and I think I now have more in common with the parents. Scary.
Would recommend and box of 5 second hand was less than 1 cinema ticket.
