A very portable and fairly cheap and handy book with lots of information

This is a very handy book when buying antique jewellery and silver it has important markings for dates and is a great guide.People would have a lot of the information needed and if they needed more information at least it would give them a start and make it easier for further information to be found as this book does not have all the information that someone may need like English jewellery of lower than 18ct was not hallmarked before the 1850's or have every makers mark but for the beginer it is very good and easlily read and understood. I am happy with the size of the book as it is very good not too small to lose and not too big that you want to leave it at home will fit nicely in a handbag. The book has around 170 pages I will be buying the larger book of this version so I can have more markers marks when at home and use this book for travelling. I would have prefered if the letter dates had been photos so i would have a more accurate look because some of the letter dates look very similar and it is possible to get them mixed up and because all the markers marks are not in the book mistakes are quite easily made. I like this book because at least you have a guide and some information is better than none. If I lost my book I would buy another one for the size and the information that is in the book and a buyer can buy one fairly cheap so if you are thinking of getting one I would say stop thinking and just get it you never know when you might need oneRead full review...

Easy to carry reference book on gold and silver!

This book is well laid out once you get used to it! There are a lot of makers names and the book covers gold hallmarks as well so with the content and the size (this is a handy pocket sized book) it is ideal if you want details while going round antique fairs and car boot sales!.
If you want a fully detailed book then look out for the full size version of this book! But even secondhand the full size book will cost a lot more, but this pocket book should at least have the hallmark dates details! Overall this is a useful book at the price, and handy to carry around or keep in your car glovebox!!
