Great 1995 updated version of the 1973 original. Great Music - visuals

I have purchased and watched three versions of J.C. Superstar. I liked them all and each one had something different and special of it's own. The original movie came out when I would have been the age it was aimed at (20). I can see how each of the later ones (this one from 1995 and the one from 2012) were also updated and still aimed at the contemporary 20-30 year olds. It's amazing how each movie could be so different yet have the nearly exact libretto (words/music). I highly recommend seeing all three movies.Read full review

Not what I wanted

This was not what wanted. I had the first Jesus Christ Superstar that came out on VHS some time ago in the late 60'S or 70'S and I really liked it. But this newer one on DVD I'm sorry I bought it. I need to keep looking for the first one that came out. Read full review
