Not loud enough to be heard through doors
With a casing as small as it has, I guess a louder chime would be too much to expect. Nevertheless the parts are good quality and I am using the battery holder and the solenoid striker to refurbish my antique tubular bells style chimes - they were LOUD. Plus the supplied doorbell pushbutton will be a good replacement at my back door.Read full review

VERY FIDDLY
I found fitting the batteries was not easy. The wiring from the battery pack to the mechanical part is very short. Took allot of time to get it working. I had to buy extra thin wire to extend the battery pack wiring.Read full review

Last a good while on batteries
The other Friedland I got took D batteries which needed changing every fortnight, this takes AA and have lasted a lot longer (with constant use).

Poor, tarnished.
Item well packaged. Instructions diagram poor. Description says it needs type AA batteries - it should say type AAA. The steel chime bars are already badly tarnished and I expect them to become rusty so I will coat with some oil as a precaution. Chimes are very quiet. It does the job - Buy cheap, expect poor quality. Read full review

Rubbish, Friedland used to be a good product.
Didn't work, tried various wiring and power supply combinations, suspect the magnet for the coil is cheap and not very magnetic.
More importantly I wasted time fitting everything in place only to find that it would not work.
Lesson: go to Screwfix and spend a bit more.Read full review

old-fashioned energy intensive
this is one of those old-fashioned, solenoid doorbells. I didn't realise that was what I was buying until it was too late. they eat the batteries.
If you're after an old-fashioned doorbell that reminds you of your childhood, perhaps this is for you after allRead full review

Friedland Atlanta
Small neat looking unobtrusive box.
No annoying drawn out ringing or chiming just a nice one off ding dong, which can be repeated by your visitor IF NECESSARY.
Inexpensive too compared to others.Read full review
