Moonraker - best Bond OST?
I've always rated the Moonraker soundtrack as one of John Barry's best and this CD extracts all the important themes from the film and throws in the two Shirley Bassey songs at the beginning and end. The range of themes are stunning from the city to the jungle to space each piece of music seems to conjure up the right images.
For an old recording (1979 - this is the CD release in 1988) the sound quality is excellent, although when compared to more recent recordings the music can sound a little "muddy" - but don't let that put you off the disc.
I only wish they'd get Mr Barry back for a new Bond film!Read full review...
John Barry at his very best.
This is a superb soundtrack. It's worth buying just for the awe-inspiring "Flight into Space", which is best appreciated at high volume in a darkened room.
