Purchase OEM and not aftermarket

I purchase an aftermarket gear and it did not fit, It would not slide on, I was not about to beat it on with a hammer, I even filed the inside of the gear to get rid of some of the casting It still would not fit. So I went back on eBay found an OEM gear and made the purchase, when it arrive I went out and slid the gear right on the tractor. Five minute repair. The aftermarket gear was a waste of 30 minutes and would not work.
