Great starter coop

Bought this for the size more than the quality.i knew I would need to make it more secure, but that was the case with ALL the coops o found. Good size(I have 3 pulletts on mine, but I am building a larger run for them to have access to..its a well thought out little coop.i added a second layer of mesh, and a mesh floor..the locks are flimsy,I added more.and I closed in the space under the coop so the hens had a shelter if frightened..oh,I alsonpoppedca plastic roof on the run.simple little modifications that have not cost much.the wood also needed repainting as its been cheaply stained.my hens are cozy and dry at night though..All these prefab coops need upgrading when you get them so dont spend more than you need to .I would buy again ! Far too small for hens

Bought this to house 2 Maran hens for a couple of weeks whilst introducing them to my flock. Built it and it is far too small, the only area they could stand up in is next to the ladder so less than a foot square. Don't but unless it is for a couple of quail or tiny bantams at a push. I realky don't believe this is suitable for hens at all maybe guinea pigs or small rabbits. £170 wasted. The only good thing i can say it is easy to build.Read full review...

Good value for a budget starter coop

Given that all coops in this price range are going to be Chinese imports, I was fairly impressed. It is well designed and quick to assemble, especially with an electric screwdriver. Each piece feels lightweight - it is thin pine after all - but once constructed it feels fairly robust.
One panel had a strut glued/screwed in the wrong place, and needed unscrewing/sawing away and re-screwing in the correct. There was also no pin to connect the two pieces of the sliding door mechanism; a little piece of garden wire works just fine.
For this price, you cannot expect this coop to be rock solid and last forever! It is strong enough to keep chickens in (they’re not famous for their strength...). It will deter foxes, dogs etc. but if you want “fox-PROOF” you need welded wire, which adds to the cost. If you’ve got mink etc. nearby, you’ll need wire covering the ground too. I fully expect to need to fix struts here and there after a couple of years, but I wanted this as a quick-to-erect basis for potentially strengthening/adapting over the years, and for that it’s fine. You certainly couldn’t build a better coop for less money, particularly after factoring in the time it would take to design, measure, cut all the pieces.

Great hen house, exactly as shown in the picture!

I would recommend this hen house and run for anyone starting out with a few hens. Its easy to assemble, with straight forward instructions, complete in approx 1 hour. Its well designed with the hen house off the floor and the mechanism for closing the internal door is ideal. I have installed an extra lock to the external door of the run, as the sliding bolt that is included loosely slides back and forth. Overall its good value for money.Read full review...

Built but took some time.

Absolutely fantastic coop and run, took myself and my partner 2 hours to build but that was due to us not being very DIY minded, very happy with the end result though. Some of the wood has splits in but wasn't enough to ask for a replacement and needed it ASAP so couldn't be messing about with returning, replacing etc. We are using it for 2 rabbits which is perfect for them. Some of the locks are a bit flimsy but do the job. Apart from that happy customers and bunniesRead full review...

Rabbit House

This is a fair size for a couple of large rabbits, they love it.
Fairly straight forward to put together but you will probably find you have to modify some things here and there. The smaller screws, hinges and door bolts are rubbish but it is cheap to replace these with proper sturdier parts. The lock on the overhung nesting box is actually not too bad.
Also comes with no base protection like chicken wire or similar
Overall though we are happy with it for the price.

Locks were put on uneven, same with the hinges. Had to make a few adjustments to get the roof of the house and roof of the run to fit flush. Wood splits easily as very soft. Will do as a starter house for th chickens. Not sure how long the wood will last in the English weather. Read full review...

Understand your needs

This is a great product. My only feedback would be that it would have been amazingly simple to build gif parts were numbered. For our birds I don’t think we can house more than four BUT 1) they are big hens 2) I knew nothing about poultry before I purchased 3) it may be more than ample sized for them now and I don’t know. However, I can confirm I am a happy customer and have already recommended it to a friend.

Looks good...

Looks better than what it is. Manufacturer quality control needs tweaking as some pre drilled holes did not match up and the dowel holes did not match. Better quality materials need for the price. Expensive for what it is.Read full review...

Smaller than expected, but design and quality good

Its well designed but very small, more of a toy and the smaller screws are not up to the job. Chicken's seem happy and so far has kept the fox out
