Inferior product, I do not recommend.

This chain lasted less than 1 month on my commuter bike. I ride less than 5 miles a day to and from the bus various bus stops, work, shopping and home. During this short time it has twisted itself into a spiral. It was replacing a chain that had lasted for more than 3 years of almost daily usage and had just started to measurably stretch. This chain is obviously made of inferior material and would not recommend it to any one. Steer well clear of this product. I wouldn't give it any stars of rating but the review wouldn't let me leave it blank.Read full review

KMC X8.99 Chain is an Excellent Chain for bikes which do Not require a 10 or 11 Speed Chain or a 1/8 inch chain ( some Fixed / Single Speed bikes ). I bought this for my mountain bike and it looks great and the quick link is very easy to use! I also bought a Shimano black chain for my wife's mountain bike for a comparison and the quick link was VERY difficult to install compared to the KMC brand. Fabulous Replacement for Stock Chain

Buy this chain if you don't want it to rust and don't have to shorten it.

This is a great chain, it is somewhat Rush resistant I use White Lightning paraffin base lubricant on it. The downside is the rivets are installed as though she cannot shorten it. That's the only downfall. Very quiet and smooth running.Read full review
