Good Multipurpose radio

This radio is easy to use once the instructions have been read and each function run through. The ability to charge using a usb port is a real plus, especially since it can be plugged in to any source even those in automobiles and planes. NOAA signals are strong and clear and being able to attach a fifty foot external antennae makes shortwave really great. There are too many nice features to comment on, but my favorite daily use feature are the auto turnoff and alarms to wakeup. My only complaint, if you could call it hat is the display light does not stay on long enough before it auto extinguishes itself after each button push
One of the best all around radios even though it is made in China.

SHOCKED AT HOW SMALL THE SIZE WAS.....FOR THE MONEY, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE SUBSTANTIAL. DOUBTING IT COULD HOLD UP LONG UNDER BAD CONDITIONS

IT DIDN;T COME WITH INSTRUCXTIONS ON HOW TO GET THE WEATHER CHANNEL WHICH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON I GOT IT. MY OLD ENERGY GO-OP RADIO WHICH HAS NOAH AND ONLY THAT ON IT HAS LASTED FOR TWENTY YEARS. I ONLY HOPE FOR THE PRICE I PAID FOR THIS ONE, IT GOES THAT LONG. I CAN GET THE CHURCH CHANNELS IN PRETTY CLEAR,BUT IT DEFINITELY NEEDED MORE INSTRUTIONS TO COME WITH IT TO MAKE IT WORTH THE MONEY.. iHAVE OTHER SMALL TECHNOLOGY APPLIANCES THAT COULD SUBSTITUTE FOR THE FLASHLIGHT.....ETC.THE RADIO IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE ON THAT TYPE OF ITEM....THANK YOURead full review

Lightweight with great features.

This is a great radio packed with alot of great features. However to hear the bands at their best i had to buy a clip on antenna. This would have had 5 stars very easy, but the antenna is just to small. To improve this radio they need to put a long antenna with a swivel on it. Other then that a great radio.Read full review

Great survival tool

Great sound, you can crank charge or solar charge the battery. It's pretty easy to use, but a little tough to figure out how to operate it. Read the manual. A great survival tool!

Real Good Product

Works fine as advertised, lighter than I expected but that's todays electronics. Great for talk radio, if your looking for high fidelity, look somewhere else. Weather channel a big plus living here on the Gulf Coast. Battery internal last 5 to 6 hours depending on your volume setting, crank a plus, I tried it, it works. Solar works as advertised. I ordered with extended antenna, and plug in power, worth the extra money.Read full review

A Radio For the Times

Need to read instructions to make the most of this little radio with a lot of features. I failed to do so and had it several months before I realized how easy the weather radio was to use. Or that batteries could be used but why?? It has lots of features that could be easily overlooked. It's a good radio for the money however no boom boxRead full review

Great radio for a bugout bag, power outage, or SHTF scenario. I wouldn't be without it.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this radio and have been very happy with my purchase. I love all the features including Flashlight, solar cell, digital tuning, digital temp/humidity readings, reading lamp, alarm, sleep timer, AM/FM/SW/LW/Weather. The NOAA weather channel comes in great on this radio (all 7 weather channels are programmed but you'll tune to the channel in your area). It also has an "Alert" feature for the weather channel and even if the radio is off, an emergency will alert you and turn on the radio automatically. The FM music band comes in well too. This radio actually picks up a distant FM station that I can't get in my car. The Short Wave comes in pretty good but is dependent on propagation, time of day, etc. If you're purchasing the radio primarily for short wave, you may want to consider a larger external antenna or a dedicated short wave radio. This radio can store 100 FM channels, 100 Short Wave channels, 25 AM channels, and 10 LW channels. Even when not in use, the radio nicely displays the date-month-year and time on the LCD display.

The radio can operate on 3 AA batteries, the self-contained NI-MH battery pack, or an AC adapter (not incl). You can also charge the NI-MH batteries via the hand crank, computer USB port, or the folding solar panel. I usually put my radio in the kitchen window for a few hours whenever the rechargeable batteries display less than a full charge and the solar panel tops off the batteries.

I didn't try charging my cell phone with the hand crank. If you do, make sure you disconnect the NI-MH battery pack cable so the current will go into your phone, rather than the internal batteries. Don't expect the hand crank to provide a lot of current. It's enough to charge the internal batteries (if they are low) and will allow you to listen to the radio for a while after cranking for a few minutes (if the batteries are low). I operate my radio predominantly on the internal rechargeable batteries and save the alkaline batteries for when the internal ones are low, it's nighttime so I can't use the solar cell, and I don't feel like hand cranking the unit. The radio operates for hours on the rechargeable battery when I'm outside working around the house (I flip up the solar cell so it helps charge the batteries while I'm listening).

I basically like everything about this radio. It's very compact, yet sounds good, and is jam-packed with features. It would be a great radio for camping or power outages since the internal battery can be charged via the hand crank or solar panel.

This radio has excellent reception, love the extras; reading lamp, flashlight, temp, humidity. Planning on buying another. Was surprised by the qualit

This radio is so good I'm giving it to my granddaughter for her birthday and buying another for myself. Reception is excellent. Extra features like time, date, 2 alarms, temp, humidity, rechargeable batteries, flashlight, reading lamp, solar charger, reg batteries, plug in computer and run off ac power. Build quality is good too. Best small portable I have owned in my 76 years. Good audio from a surprisingly small speaker. Picks up stations my large radios have difficulty with.Read full review

Lots of features

Happy with this product and all it`s features. Recommend keeping the instruction booklet until you are thoroughly familiar with the product. As. stated, there are so many features it could be confusing with out it.. I like that the antenna collapses into it`s protective tube, this should prevent unwanted breakage.Read full review
