A smoke alarm is a smoke alarm, that is until you need it! It seems really good quality and is manufactured by a respected company. The idea of having a unit with a battery that will keep it powered until the end of its life is really good. Great smoke/carbon monoxide alarms from Kidde.
Great products, Kidde. I have a number of these around the house and workshop including carbon monoxide detectors. Very well made and easy to fit. Baseplate screws into the ceiling and then the unit screws into the baseplate turning the unit on automatically. They are understandably sensitive without 'false' alarms as with cheaper units. Great bit of kit and absolutely essential if, like me, you use diesel heaters. My last ones lasted 13 years albeit I should have replaced them at 10 years. Lining up the alarm to slot into the ceiling bracket was not easy. The writing and pictures on the pamphlet are very small. Good job my husband is a self-employed builder.

Peace of mind!
If you do the maths, this product works out cheaper than buying a standard smoke detector and having to replace the battery 3 times. This is especially true when you take in the fact that you should replace smoke detectors every 10 years anyway.
