Speaking as a Goldfinch and a frequent visitor to Hilary & Cliff's garden I must say that this mesh tray is the finest one that I have come across in my daily feeding flights. Being of a fine mesh it allows the rainwater to drain away thus keeping my food fresh and free from the ill effects of being soaked in water. This is most important at this time of the year when my wife and I are feeding our newly hatched chicks. I perch in the tree nearby and sing praises of the feeder for all the other birds to hear and take their fill of the goodies on offer. Ordered this for the parts really to add to existing bird feeder. Good quality and fitted well. To use the whole thing independently I am not sure it would be very stable as just has a single spike.

Perfect fit
This dish was purchased to replace a dish which had holes in the mesh. I don't know if the original feeder was branded 'Kingfisher' but this dish looks identical to the original. However the wire of the mesh is slighlty thinner than that on another bird feeder we have. Time will tell if the new dish develops holes. That may depend on the cause. In the past squirrels and rats had access to the feeder. The rats have been dealt with and squirrel baffles fitted. Thicker wire might be preferable.Read full review...

A sturdy replacement
Exactly what I was looking for. The old one had rotted onthe coprner and was about to collapse. This fitted perfectly into the hoop on the stand I bought several years ago. What more to say?
