Does the job

Does the job well. Easy to cut with a knife if needed as I had to to make space for a pipe. May not fit tap if it has a screw on hose attachment, but these are easily removed for winter.

Much better versions out there

Aldi sell far superior versions of these for the same price, this is just s polystyrene cup with a badly glued foam cushion and flimsy loop for tap
Will it protect your tap from freezing....Yes, so it will do the same job as any other, but there are better ones out there with an outer shell over the polystyrene... Much smarter and better finished.Read full review...

It does the job it is supposed to do adequately but is a bit on the flimsy side. Mine arrived in a plastic bag without any protection and was slightly cracked along one edge, this was easily repaired with tape but could have been much worse. Good but small

I found it to small for my outside tap the top of my tap has broken through the top of this cover so some protection is better than nothing but could have been bigger

Could be slightly better!

Wrapped item in Duct tape as soon as it arrived as recommended by another purchaser. It is only polystyrene with no protective outer cover. Winter will tell if its any good.

Not as expected

Have bought these before from other suppliers, so knew what I wanted. This sounded ideal, strange colour white though? The reason it is white is because it is polystyrene with no outer shell! I don't imagine it will survive the winter - not good value for the money paid.Read full review...

Outside frost protection

I only put this on my outside tap after I'd had a burst pipe so can't say how effective it is. But it seems very effective and easy to put on. It seems a bit flimsy but then polystyrene is very light anyway. It fits snugly over the tap so I have no reason to think it won't be effective in protecting the tap from frost. Tape and pipe protection for the hard winter ahead.

These items have already been fitted to my outside taps in preparation for a hard winter this year. They are easy to fit, solid and well insulated, but could be cheaper than what I paid. But if it will help protect my pipes / taps from bursting in the cold weather then the cost is irrelevant as it will easily outway the cost and inconvenience of repair, preparation is hopefully the key to protecting my outside taps / pipes with what I think will be a harsh winter this year.Read full review...
