ECOUMY WATER TIMING!

My previous "3 times the price BESPOKE rival branded" expensive electronic water timer suddenly DIED!
So I had to think fast as I was just about to go away on holiday.
The economically priced KINGFISHER ELECTRONIC WATER AUTOMATIC TIMER GARDEN METER fitted the bill.
It was not too difficult to understand the setting up procedure, but maybe having to wait a full 12 hour cycle to check the setting up was correct is somewhat tiresome!
However, whatever, the timer works accurately and my water comes on as set at 19.30 hrs. each day for 30 mins.
WE have around 50 flower/plant containers to water feed both back and front of house, with a vast amount of water feeds and main piping all around the gardens, so it is essential we have a reliable on-off electronically switched water garden meter!
Well done KINGFISHER Co.

Not a bad watering timer for the money

Product OK but made entirely of plastic so tap attachment not that robust. Had to use my own extra washer to get good seal on tap. There's a black ring that holds a white ball in position as part of the mechanism and it keeps falling out as you're trying to connect it all up. I think the timer switched the water on and off OK whilst I was on holiday. Quite easy to set up the timings.Read full review...

Good for the Purpose

Whilst I found this difficult to get going in the first place as, for some reason it didn't want to work to start with, once it started it was fine and kept my pond topped up whilst I was on holiday. However, you can't use the hose normally, even when the timer is switched off. To do that you have to disconnect the whole thing and put the hose back on the tap in the normal manner, which is a bit of a nuisance. Other timers I have had enable you to switch the timer off and turn it to and on/off setting which you can operate by hand, which is why I have only given it four stars instead of five.Read full review...

Just read the instructions

It arrived quicker than expected, which was great.
I'm not a great one for reading the instructions for anything I buy, but the ones supplied with this is just one page. Once I'd read it and followed it, I was fine.

Seems fine for now.

Slight leak around the tap where it screws on, so will look at using some plumbing tape when I have time.

It diesnt work

It doesn't work. Yes I have good batteries in. Yes the tap is on. ( The battery light flickers at well over once a second.) The motor does run when the batteries go in no matter how the run time is set
I want a good one or a refund

Good value for basic automatic watering.

This device seems to work ok, although the "reset" function doesnt seem to open the valve, which is different to other similar devices that I use. Other than that it seems to work fine. As with others of this kind, you cant adjust time, so if for example you choose 10 minutes every 24 hours and happen to set it up at 06.00, it will water the garden at that time every day. Just what I needed for greenhouse watering

This is a surprisingly sturdily built timer for the price. I find it excellent for watering my greenhouse from an outside water barrel. Both inlet & outlet make good watertight connections. Front cover screws on snugly & seems unlikely to allow water into electronic components if fitted properly. Timing mechanism is logical & simpler than having to set time & date. Before leaving it I would recommend measuring the output, set it to e.g. hourly for 10min and measure the volume of water output, can then calculate timing for when you leave it for holiday etc. If using mains keep the pressure low to avoid floods, I find that hoselock connections are prone to working loose if pressure is too high.Read full review...

Does the job but limited timing options

My hanging baskets are getting plenty of water every day but the timing options are limited. You can only set it to run every fixed number of minutes from now.

Water timer

I purchased this item in somewhat of a hurry due to going on holiday. I was very surprised how easy it was to programme and that it worked straight away without any fuss. On returning from my holiday I found that it had worked perfectly keeping all my plants alive. As to the long term I do not know but I have no reason to think that it will not continue to perform without any problem.Read full review...
