For children of a certain age this is a great chance to relive some good old fashioned 80's action TV. (It was all action back then, The A-Team, KnightRider, Dukes of Hazzard, Airwolf, the list goes on and on.
Long before the Hoff became a parody of himself he was David Hasselhoff, actor, playing Michael Knight. His character is originally a policeman (Michael Long) who was left for dead in a shooting incident. FLAG the Foundation for Law and Government step in and rebuild him and give him a new identity and a top secret vehicle and a mission. One man can make a difference. His car KITT the Knight Industries Two Thousand (two thousand being futuristic back then) has artificial intelligence and has a link with Michael through a micro chip that they both have inserted. The show is basically a secret agent style crime busting show with a car that has more than a box of tricks at it's disposal. Pursuit mode, Turbo Boost etc - It also talks and has banter with Michael which is a big part of the enduring appeal of the show.
KITT isn't even the prototype model. That was the original car - KARR - the Knight Automated Roving Robot. And that vehicle has gone rogue and is a recurring bad guy character in the show.
The only downside was when Kitt's mechanic Bonnie left and was replaced with April. The people in charge could see that wasn't working and brought Bonnie back after one series gone.
Buy it - you'll love it. It's everything you remember it to be. And Michael Knight communicated with KITT through his watch long before Apple had even thought of it.Read full review
