Mad Scientist turns cute chimp into Killer Gorilla

After crashing in an airplane into the jungles of Africa, British college botany professor Dr. Decker discovers giant carnivorous plants. Upon his return to England he sets about discovering the secret of the plant’s giant growth. He injects the plant extract into a baby chimp which turns into a man in a gorilla suit! Decker uses the gorilla to do his evil bidding as he also lusts after one of his students. A second injection turns the gorilla into a giant monster which destroys several model buildings until the British army dispatches him with a hail of bullets.
The film stars Michael Gough who later became famous as Batman’s butler Alfred.
Not much of a plot, poor “special effects” – even by 1961 B-Movie standards. If you remember watching the film in your local movie house as a kid it might be fun to watch it again, but it’s just hard to recommend adding this to your DVD collection. Really a pretty forgettable film.
