LEGO Disney: Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle (41062)

some fairly fragile bricks in this build

The bad: who can say if it was a matter of transit, older plastic, or just the design but a few bricks have pincer like pieces meant to clamp onto other bricks. On all but two, the moment we placed the other piece into those clamps, they broke! Easy enough to replace, they are apparently common enough pieces that lego's pick a brick website has them available, but it was disappointing to myself and my child. I'm overseeing her build, in case she needs help, instructing her to be careful, stepped in to do this step myself since the bricks looked delicate - snap! Since so many broke, I'm guessing it's the age of the plastic and that this was a used item. Still, couldn't quite give it 5 stars.

the good: it is a lovely little castle with some really cute detailing and interactive features (the stairs move/retract, a little level turns on an icecream machine, the sled ramp has a hidden area underneath it that my child likes to use to store elsa's ice-power hand attachments. Ideal for any little princess, lots of interesting pieces which makes it different to other sets and enables lots of imaginative play. The age group is probably right as there are many small pieces and some parental assistance may required initially to achieve the correct result. Easy to follow instructions

Came in a very small box so a bit shocked at price but lego is expensive. Very small pieces but Granddaughter is 5 and followed instructions well. Good fun to make and looks lovely when built!
