Great cooling system
This cools great! Easy hook-up, the exhaust window kit includes everything and totally fits the whole side of my casement window. It's not as loud as I feared it might be. Takes up a healthy space, but, boy, does it cool! I'm delighted to have come across this item, and recommend it for one-room cooling - really does the job. Also includes easy-to-understand operating instructions!Read full review

Pros and cons of the new vs the older model.
Cons: The new model (from 2018 to current) shoots the air up versus the older model that comes out the front of the unit. Prefer the older style. The current model is smaller and lighter and probably uses less electricity. Con: The auction picture is the older style but yet you get the newer version. Most people would find that beneficial but I wanted the older style. Also the older unit made close to a gallon or more of water but the newer style not a drop. Most would find this better since you don't have to have a bucket to collect the water. Would rate a 6 out of 10 tops.Read full review

Great value 👍
The trade-off between the window unit and the portable unit is that the portable unit is less efficient because of the amount of heat that is given off by the vent that blows the air outside. Though the portable unit is less efficient it is less invasive for the window and does not damage it. Overall the portable unit is of a good value and works great.
P. S. Be sure to to setup the drain for the condensation.Read full review

Nice Air Conditioner, No Eco Mode
I gave this unit 4/5 stars for the following reasons, it has no economy mode that shuts the unit off once the temperture set by user is met, my windows unit in a another has that feature and it saves me money on the electric bill, going by some reviews i was led to believe this unit hade eco mode, it does cycle the compressor on and off as needed which helps, 2nd reason for 4/5 stars is the remote control is very hard to read without having a light on, it is not backlit as most remotes today are, also you must use the remote for certain functions such as timer on/off mode, you cannot set these functions on the a/c unit, so if the remote goes bad, you must buy a new one. As far as noise, this is great(53decibels), dont understand why people are complaining about it, i have an 8000btu unit in my kids room and that one is louder they this new one. The unit comes complete with window installation kit, it does not come with the drain hose that you only need if you run it constantly on dehumidify which i do not. As far as the power cord lenght, it can be used with an extension cord but it must be heavy duty, I used a 10guage extension with no problem, if you use a regular extension cord, it could start on fire so if you know nothing about eletricity, hire a electrician, if you cause a fire, LG has warned you not to use an extension cord, so its on you. The unit does have 2 fan speeds, low and high, when you change the speed of the fan, it has about a 3 second delay b4 you hear or notice a difference which is normal. I would recomend that you test run the A/C unit on a floor that will not be ruined right away if it gets wet as i did because people have complained about getting units that the bottoms are cracked and did not notice it until they installed it and walked away only to come back to a soaked floor, this happens due to misuse through shipping companies, i got a good one that the box was in perfect condition when arrived, just warning people so they know or if they go to the store to purchase one, always look at the packaging. My bedroom is 14x14 and it was 97 degrees today, it took the unit less then 30 minutes to cool the room to 70 degrees which my other unit that was 10000 btu would not achieve if i gave it all day, this unit has a strong blower on it whichs helps it cool faster, in fact, the blower on this unit is almost 2 times stronger then then one on my 1000 btu unit. I paid $219 for my unit on July 2nd, 2018 which is an awesome price which included shipping, Lowes and Home Depot sell these units up to $499 so i saved about about 55% off retail.
I hope this review helps other people when deciding to make a portable a/c unit purchase, I did not get paid or receive a promotial price for this review, i bought it just like everyone else.Read full review

Nice air conditioning unit - very flexible to move around the house.
So far so good - we like the unit. I like the window mounting - seems solid and is easy to snap together. Wish the condensation tank was easier to empty - they should make these with a removable container that you can dump rather than a short spout that sticks out the back. Louder than a window air conditioner - the compressor is in the room with you - but this should be expected. That being said, it's not too loud. The remote works well.Read full review

Great for the price
Got the ac today a little earlier than expected. It was in great condition, as expected from a manufacturer refurbished product. The AC itself is great, about as noisy as you would think from a portable unit.
My only complaint is with the window sealing. The instructions were very unclear, and you would be lucky if it can fit in your window as described. Eventually I found some decent solution, so just be ready to improvise a little.
The instructions also tell you to stick a bunch of adhesive foam on your window to seal it more effectively, which kinda defeats some of the purpose behind a portable ac. I managed without it.Read full review

Bought for pop up camper
We bought this size so we could use in our pop up camper and it has worked amazing. We ran the hose out our old vent so no real work was needed for the exhaust vent. Its been around 85 all weekend and this unit has kept our pop up very cool. It was delivered quick and looks brand new. We will definitely buy another one from them when we need itRead full review

good deal for the money spent.
first off, I haven't received a electric bill yet, but I am pretty sure it is current with being energy compliant. the fan will not automatically shut down with the compressor, it keeps running no matter what. it is pretty noisy, but I can deal with that. you can obtain a 5/8" inside diameter hose from a local hardware store or any store that sells garden hoses and such for the drain in case you want to use it as a dehumidifier. one is not included nor available through lg. I like the fact that it is lg! they have great customer service and products!Read full review

Good value nice and cool.
I 'm going to be honest, I was hoping this unit would cover a bit more than it is really capable of. I live in South Florida so the demands on air conditioners is great. That said in a decent size bedroom this thing kicks a**I'm actually using my comforter again.Read full review

I have never had any problems with an LG product.
I was a little hesitant about buying a refurbished unit. When I took it out of the box, it looked like it was brand new. No scratches, etc. When it's running, the air is super cold and it's not as noisy our window air conditioner.Read full review
