Soundbar for TV with poor sound

Surprisingly I have not been able to obtain details of the screw threads of the sockets provided for securing the soundbar to a shelf or brackets (I asked LG support but was referred to a bracket manufacturer!). Fortunately I had 2 odd bolts which appeared to fit and which I have used to attach the soundbar to a shelf from the turntable on which I have mounted my 24inch Panasonic TV in the corner of our dining room. I am still experimenting with the settings for TV and soundbar to try and avoid having to use both remotes when switching on to watch TV.
Definitely an improvement on the original sound from the smalll TV's speakers.

LG SJ2 sound bar

Instantly connected to my LG tv just by connecting the power and digital audio cable. TV remote does control volume but not all special feature.
The standard TV volume level of "9" was a comfortable level for me when I attached the sound bar I needed a volume level of 34 to equal the same sound.
Once I get my head around the volume level being different I can truely say the sound quality is cinematic and very rich.

Simple plug and go set up!

Incredibly easy to set up - plugged the sound bar into a mains socket and as soon as I plugged in the sub-woofer, it automatically paired with the soundbar!

The remote has an F (function) button, which you use to select optical cable, Bluetooth or USB and when I selected Bluetooth my phone found the SJ2 immediately. But there is also a button called Optical on the remote, which is the quickest and easiest way to return it to the Optical cable input :-)

However, I find the sound a bit too bass-y even with the Bass Boost turned off and the volume of the sub-woofer turned down :-( There is no other way to change the bass or treble levels on the soundbar but there may be audio settings on my TV that I could adjust to reduce the bass level although I haven't checked yet.Read full review

A very neat piece of equipment. The bar fits under the TV perfectly and looks well in the room, almost unnoticeable. Good sound and easy to use. Only drawback was that there were no optical cables included.Read full review

LG SJ2 soundbar.

I bought this soundbar to use in my bedroom. I have a 28" LG TV and this soundbar suits it well, being just 10mm wider. I also use it as a replacement for my previous (no longer working) Bluetooth speaker. It does the job very well on both counts. It is not quite hi-fi but produces very good sound on both optical and Bluetooth.Read full review
