Snake oil? Caution

Umm methinks snake oil?
Look it didn't work for me.
Its been 5 months now and 4k miles.
I had a little bit of a ticking noise at the top of the engine, nothing bad.
Car has done 110k but regularly serviced with good quality oil.
I did exactly as the instructions stated.
Made no difference.

Not Bad, it tried

Seems to work when the engine is cold, at first start, but after a few miles the tappet noise is back to normal, maybe use 10W40 oil next time

LiquiMoly hydraulic valve lifters treatment

Ever since owning my used 2003 vectra 2.0DTI it was always noisy did a few engine flushes but it always sounded the same... got told to try a hydraulic valve treatement and after some searching this came up as one of the better ones... well I put it in raved the car a bit and the tappetty noise is gone! Well pleased as I was going to replace them and the car is has 16 of them so quite expensive to replace them.

So if you have that mechanical rapper noise try this first it worked for me!Read full review...

Works well and cleans engine

Had noisy lifters on a Golf mk4 diesel mostly due to short journeys and the motor never warming up properly. I suspect some of it is due to poor oil quality and I noticed that after adding this the oil became much blacker suddenly so it has obviously done some extra cleaning. The lifter noise has now disappeared so for me its done a good job and been ok for a few months. Next time at oil change I will use a better quality diesel oil and if I have the problem again will use this also. Read full review...

a product that did what it was claimed to do

sometimes you come across a product and you think i bet it wont work so i got a couple of cans and installed them into a 1960 v8 engine that in my reckoning was noisy due to the cam followers
well after putting it into the system lo and behold after the engine got warm and the oil had got around it started to decrease the noise plus the oil pressure increased so after i had run it for a few miles it was getting better and it was running a lot better and felt more lively so i have to admit it seems to be doing what it was sold as
so very pleased

Did not work for me

As far as I can tell, the product does not work, Put the additive in approx 5 miles ago and the engine is still quite nosey !! Suggest try another product
