Easy to open as pole is in two parts - so if you need to you can open the top part like an umbrella before inserting into bottom part of pole. You get what you pay for.

OK. Let's start with the positives. It's lightweight. It goes up and folds down easily. It folds down neatly and with the supplied velcro strap and black cover looks very tidy in storage position. The not too impressive bits: it looks cheap. The starting & ending points of the line are simply tied on to the structure to secure them. This means that at the start and end points those innermost and outermost lines are unusable.The lines have been secured on all 4 corners by simply wrapping the line around the corners and tying off. This washing line officially has a greater area than my old one but that's because the lines are very close together, roughly 4-5cm between each line. It will just about accommodate a double sheet/double duvet cover on the outermost line. Anything king or queen sized, forget it. The line 'tensioner' is useless. Read full review...

good item with difficulties

This product is strong and sturdy.
The problem is that it is very difficult to open up. Neither my husband nor I could get it up high enough to reach the stay. Our 6ft 4in son eventually managed to do it with my husband holding the base part very firmly. Now it is up we afraid to close it as we cannot rely on some one else to help us each time we need it open.

Sturdy with dinky line tensioner

My old rotary airer had reached 30 years old and was in need of replacement. I wanted something sturdy with 4 arms, but many of them had a larger diameter pole than our existing concreted hole in the ground. The pole on this Livio model fitted perfectly. The cover is particularly good quality. The only thing which I'm not sure about is the strength of the height adjuster but the next 30 years will tell! Altogether a good purchase.Read full review...

It's well made and has, as far as such things can have, a reasonably attractive appearance, the diameter when in use is not too large and thus ideal for a small garden. Very easy to assemble/erect and is fine for purpose in use. It has, unlike some, the benefit of a line tension adjuster and is complete with a cover for when not in use. My only criticism is that each arm is fairly narrow . My previous drier was a 3 arm so I am used to the extra width
