Easy step up from the Cassette version of this set.

These radios were built "light and affordable." They lack a certain degree of ruggedness and power I have grown to expect from automotive electronics. For example, the amplifier output is just a few watts, considerably less that most radios on the market today. For that reason don't expect ear shattering pounding bass out of this radio. On the other hand, if you want a simple radio/CD player to just play some quiet soothing music while getting away from it all, say back in the sticks, this radio/CD player might be your ticket.

I replaced a similar unit (made by the same manufacturer) that was a radio/cassette player. I had to make a custom panel to fill part of the hole cut in my motorhome by its manufacturer to accommodate the radio/cassette player because the radio/cassette player is about 7" longer than this radio/CD player. Otherwise, the wiring harness, speakers, etc., for the old player was compatible with the new one, right down to the connecting plug ... so all I had to do electrically was unplug the old one, plug in the new one and hit the power and play buttons!Read full review

Cd player skips for no reason.

Received unit but did not install immediately as I needed it for a 4th of July boat parade. I installed the unit and was trying to play patriotic music while slowly sailing on our small lake. The CD player skipped quite a bit for no reason. I do not recommend this product.Read full review

Simply does not work.

Excited to receive unit, looked good, installed, ran wires,turned power on, ..... nothing. Checked all hook ups, power supply, fuse,plug, etc. and unit simply fails to power up.
