Great Value Lais Decoder

This is the cheapest decoder currently available in the UK by a very large margin. Having used a few of these items, all of them performed very well in different makes of locomotive, some Bachmann, Athearn and Atlas.

They are 4 function with good lighting outputs which is particularly useful for US locos. Motor control is better than some much more expensive items but check on the stall current of your loco before purchasing one.Read full review

low cost, high spec

I am new to DCC and was almost put off going down this route by the cost of decoders especially. The majority are quite expensive albeit they have quite a high specification for the more serious modelers. I have a small number of different manufacturers decoders which, when funds allow, will come into their own when used with more advanced programmers (I have basic EZ command at present). However, when I stumbled across Laisdcc and bought one of their decoders I was amazed that apart from them being a lot cheaper and having a specification in line with the more expensive types, they provide far smoother and much slower running of the engines.
