Mascara wearing off in a couple of hours

I thought I'd be hooked on this mascara after it was bought me by a friend and seemed to be the best mascara I'd ever used. Had a gap using another brand and this time it isn't having the same effect. Really disappointing

This will be going in the bin soon. I love Lancôme products and have been using their mascara for two years so thought I would give this a go.
