Whitman large cent album review

it would appear that the holes for the large cents are made too large whereby the coin turns in its slot very easily. The plastic type window slide is much too flimsy, bends easily and encompasses too much space, where as there should be one plastic slide per row. Too much writing on album pages explaining why a coin is missing. There are a few places where the writing describes two different coins per slot but instead of listing the coins but instead should provide two spaces. Glad I got it, Great book for year sets of Large coins, but they are loose in it.

I wanted a Large Cent album that did Not have all the many varieties for each year.

Over priced, but better than Dansco for coin fit

Since many large cents are different sizes some of the holes are VERY tight, The 1798 was the worst of the bunch.

When to use this type of album, it is best for a VF and lower collector

This is the standard Whitman collecting album with press in capture of each coin, Do not press to hard or you tear out the back. It is a good organizing tool, if you collect VF or lower coins. If you are after better coins, then do not put them into this, use at least non pvc containing flips or get them graded and encapsulated at NGC or PCGS.Read full review
