The other N64 Zelda game.

In my opinion, Majora’s Mask is tied with Banjo Kazooie as the best game on the N64. I’ve played the game on multiple different services over the years, but never owned the original cartridge itself. And it plays just as well as I imagined. The Groundhog Day element of repeating the same three days while seeing what you can accomplish in the time you have before the impending doom of it all is one of the most tense and challenging aspects of the game. The main quest might be short by Zelda standards, but that’s because this game is all about the side quests. And missing out on about 3/4th of the game if you decide to skip them. Seeing how you affect the lives of the townspeople in the world around is one of the most satisfying parts that very few games have been able to emulate for me. Bottom line this is a fantastic game with great value. It’s not for everyone. This is definitely a Zelda fan’s Zelda game. Easily in my top 3 for the series.Read full review...

Fun, Action packed, Intriguing, and one of a kind. Majora's Mask is a GREAT game.

Majora's Mask is a unique and great game. It is one of the only Zelda games where Ganondorf is no the antagonist. Majora's Mask is not only a great sequel to spectacular Ocarina of Time, it is also the better N64 Action/Adventure game. Ocarina of Time is still a better Zelda game and game of its generation, but Majora's Mask did what Ocarina of Time did and improved it. Sure it doesn't have better bosses, dungeons, or a better story, but Majora's Mask is a Zelda game that you definitely do not want to miss out on.Read full review...

With all my heart♡

Nostalgia vibes!♡ Even with owning the 3DS version of Majoras mask, there's just something about playing on the 64 that brings me a tear to me eye :'-) I remember always wanting to own majoras mask as a kid on the 64, but was told too young or not ready- and on my teens with no join and being impossible to buy games with no job, had to rely on playing it on pc [which didn't feel right to me :/ ] but now at age 23, stumbled upon this beauty again, purchased it on here and boy was it the best decision of my life♡ I'm in awe with game as it holds a dear place in my heart ☆ Overall this game being one of my favorite darkest Zelda series, just thrilled to being able to play it!:'-)Read full review...

Extremely Niche item

The Internet may be full of this as an amazing and revolutionary game as a hidden gem, but it's not like that to everyone. The game is pretty dated and you have to be a fan of zelda beforehand, most preferably play ocarina of time first. The controls are good, but certainly take getting used to and the graphics were great for the time but have not aged as well, especially since there's a remake. If you're a definite fan or collecting I'd say get it, but if not I recommend maybe try out an emulator or the remake or the one on the virtual console. If you decide to buy be patient and even prepared you won't like the game, all in all this is a great game and well worth the buy but most certainly not for everyone like ocarina of time may be. Possibly THE best LoZ game ever

Like most people in my generation, the first Legend of Zelda game I played was the amazing Ocarina of Time. Somehow, however, I didn't play Majora's Mask the first time until 2011 or so, on the Wii Virtual Console. At this point I'd played OoT, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword multiple times each.
Majora's Mask has a compelling story with an overall creepy, kinda dark vibe to it. The whole game has a similar feel to the darker parts of Ocarina, such as the Under the Well and Shadow temples. The 3-day mechanic is extremely compelling to me and adds a sense of urgency and a need for time and resource management. The game is just difficult enough to be interesting, and you will undoubtedly become hung up on a couple segments for some time and may even need to consult the internet for a guide to get through!
At this point I've played the game through 3 times and I'm looking forward to playing my recently purchased N64 cart through for a 4th time.
TL;DR: Majora's Mask is an amazing, compelling LoZ game to rival Ocarina of Time as the best Zelda game ever!

One of the best Zelda games of all time

This game holds up a lot better than ocarina of Time. The added element of having to solve puzzles by talking to different NPCs at the right time gives this game an element I'm not sure has been outdone until mass effect came out, and in some ways it still hasn't been matched. The game is hard, but fun, and really explores the game mechanics of the ocarina. No other Zelda game allows you to transform into other races, which sets this game apart in a wonderful way.Read full review...

I have always wanted to own this game!

Yay! Majora's Mask is a classic game; I used to play it at my aunt's house growing up and it's fun to finally own a copy. They're kindof hard to find under 50$ so the price was decent. The cartridge is in great quality and I've had no trouble with it. :)Read full review...

Greatest, Darkest Nintendo Game!

Game takes place in Clock Town where you’re confronted by the skull kid controlled by Majora’s Mask, who’s threatening to destroy everything with the moon. Now if that isn’t a unique plot I don’t know what is. The game is very fun and the time limit to three days to complete a few side quests makes it challenging. Very good collectors item for hardcore Nintendo / Legend of Zelda fans!Read full review...

Zelda: Majora's Mask isn't your typical Zelda game

In the game Link only has 72 hours (3 days) to prevent the end of the world. The premise of the game is very similar to a movie "Groundhog Day", where a character keeps on reliving the same day over and over again. In Major's Mask Link too must relive the same 3 days over and over again. Each time he concentrates on different things, it could be challenging a dungeon or helping a friend in town. Another game mechanic that is unique to Majora's Mask is the mask transformations. When link wears a particular mask he is able to transform into a different character; it could be a deku shrub, a zora, or a goron. Although Link first got to wear masks in Ocarina of Time, in Majora's Mask wearing masks is really at the center of the game. Not all masks transform link, some only give him special powers. Some of these powers include: being invisible to enemies, being able to explode like a bomb, or dancing. Many of the in game characters are taken straight from Ocarina of Time, but there are some new faces too. The game is on the short side, especially when you consider that it's a Zelda title. Still, there are a lot of bonus content here. Ever wondered where Link got that Great Fairy Sword in a Soul Caliber game? Well, he finds it in this game. The clock is constantly winding down, even as you explore the depth of the dungeons. When you decide to warp back to the first day in the chamber of the final boss simply because you didn't have enough time, frustration can set in. Then again, if you beat the boss and save your self in the nick of time, the experience can be very rewarding.Read full review...

Great game if you have the time and patience for it

There's never any major disappointments with a Legend of Zelda game (even Adventure of Link is great; stop saying otherwise). This is definitely one of the more confusing games in the series, and it takes a lot of time and patience to play it through.

It's a great game and definitely worthy of the Zelda name, but the 3-day rule has always annoyed me. The fact that there are timed events make you wait long periods of time at times, and having to re-see scenes that you've seen numerous times before gets really annoying. The other major issue is that you can't save anytime. You have to find a statue which are far and few in between.

Every Zelda fan should play it at least once, but unless you want it for your collection, it's not a major loss if you can't.
