lenovo Ideapad Fit for purpose

It wasn't a 'Thinkpad - an 'Ideapad' if there's a difference?
Although 'Which?' magazine rated it very low and below Lenovo Yoga I find it OK. (Which? August 2018). The main 'black marks' were Battery life (time spent on games and films). Not a problem as I keep it on charge and anyway don't waste my time on games, except brain training - although the latest research suggests this is a waste of time and money, and don't take it anywhere. I admit that this (sound quality) is pretty pathetic but I use my magnificent Sony bluetooth earphones. I got it from PC World - Curry's (Evesham) at a heavily discounted price. I asked why, being a little suspicious, and was told that Lenovo had brought out a new model and they were 'landfilling' their old models discounted. True? I don't know but have my suspicions. I was disapointed there was no CD slot but my Granddaughter who obviously is far more knowledgeable than I with only my 40 years experience of various laptops, assured me that no new laptops have these as CD DVS etc are now obsolete and everything is somewhere up in the clouds. That's progress I guess. Bottom line. I am very happy with this model.Read full review
