Seedling heat mat

Benefits of these seed mats are they are of a good quality and just easy to move around very portable and cost effective less then propagators and just as successful .
l have two that are in constant use
I have germinated beans , plant seeds and am advising that you water your seed trays twice a day with a fine mist spray and cling film is useful as are food bags to keep moisture .
I have a cupboard that l am using lined with tin foil and l have grow lights l run these seed heat mats along my propagators they are just as successful and l can get more on the seed heat mats Read full review

gets too hot too slow, no thermostat

It works and heat is heat. But it heats my propagator upto 36 degrees. Ive had to add a thermostatic controller to keep it at 25. And It takes ages to heat up. Maybe Im expecting to much to think it would have a thermostat built into it.Read full review

Lerway 21 watt seed starter mat.

These are the 21watt mats (there are 17.5watt versions which I know nothing about)
Ordered two mats. unrolled them and put a couple of oven dishes on them to flatten them out. Plugged them in to soften them, and both were working ok so I potted up some seeds and connected the mats to a temp controller. They reached temp - 20degrees - in less than two hours, and have been working well ever since. I am delighted with the mats, which appear to be well made, and robust. Time will tell, but I am confident that they will last. Highly recommended.Read full review

Heated mat

I bought this mat for my beer making as well as making use of an unheated propagator in my shed.
At first when it arrived I thought it was not working as it was very slow to heat up, because of this I wrapped the mat around my barrel and used my fleece jacket around both to retain the heat for my fermentation.
Using the heat mat with the propagator I used a floor mat under the heater to prevent heat loss through our floor.
All worked out well and seem well made. I would not recomend rolling the mat to return to the box to max life of product.Read full review

really speeds up germination

This mat has really speeded up germination of squashes and pumpkin seeds. I put the mat inside a large square tray, then two standard size trays fit directly on top of the mat, so it is easy to rotate the pots over the heated area. When I lift the tray lids the warmth is easy to feel.
This is much more flexible to use than a plug-in tray, and much cheaper to buy. Best of all, it rolls up into a small box so storage until next season will not be a problem.Read full review

Works well for seeds

I have a heated propagator but it never really felt warm and seeds still failed. I bought this not expecting much but it works. I stand a full size seed tray on it, with smaller ones in that, and it warms the soil really well. The seed compost was kept at a temperature of 28oC and my seeds seem a lot happier. I also think if I was a little reptile I’d love it, although I’m not sure how hot they need to be. It’s sent rolled up and I had to weight it with books to flatten it at first, but it’s flat now. The quality looks fine and it comes ready to plug in and use.Read full review

Does it’s job

Heat mat arrived sooner than expected and seems strong and sturdy. Had some tomato seeds that had been in a propagation tray for a couple of days during cold weather in March. As someone who does both gardening and brewing, this is an ace piece of kit. It's just large enough to fit the better part of two 25ltr brewing bins on, and as long as you start with the right water temperature, brewing goes steady.
