I like Maca and I will continue taking it as I believe it sharpens my mental functions.

I give Maca itself a rating of only 4 stars because I'm not up to doing a clinical trial to PROVE its value.
I think my mathematical skills and memory have improved since taking it.......(I don't think it's my imagination and I'm not aware of anything else new that I did around the time of starting to take it...... but it's impossible to rule out all the other influences in life and without testing you cannot be sure.)
Therefore, I prefer to err on the side of scientific caution, if you like, and remain at a 4 star rating rather than 5.

Given the overall 4 stars for Maca as a "wonder drug", I would give this particular brand of Maca, 5 stars as it is cost effective and neatly packaged.
The tablets are neutral in colour with a streamlined shape and smooth outer texture which makes them easy to swallow.
I have had no side effects whatsoever ..... except for the good ones named above!!!

Caused Anxiety, paranoia and Insomnia

I bought this Maca Root to help with menopause symptoms etc unfortunately it caused anxiety, paranoia and insomnia. I realized after 2 weeks what was going on and as soon as I stopped taking it the symptoms disappeared completely. A shame because it was very helpful in other ways. I have been taking maca root for 2years and have found it a valuable supplement... I am in my 60s.... I work 45hours a week running my own business, my stamina is good, my hair has become thicker and I sleep better..... I will not be without it..... I've been taking these for peri-meopausal symptoms related to reduced hormones related to progesterone for three weeks: I read several well-cited scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals on several aspects of the actions of Lepidium meyanii, and concluded that they appear effective for several aspects of peri-menopause, and would recommend others to do the same.
