Awesome Quiet Live Gig Wireless for Bass or Electric Guitar

I run life sound for the teen all-girl band Midnight Angels. Their bass and lead guitarist wanted a wireless system to run off stage and dance with the audience. We first bought one for the lead guitarist. The unit proved itself. It is rugged and withstands the rigors of live touring. The receiver is 9V, but requires relatively high milliamps (electron flow) - more than a typical guitar effects pedal. So we had to use a high quality transformer that has multiple 9 volt lines, that also has a few lines for high milliamp units such as the G50 Wireless system. (i.e. Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 PLUS).

If you try to plug into a transformer power supply without enough milliamp flow, the unit will power on (blue light) for a second or so, and then shut off. You might think there is something wrong with it, but it is most likely the transformer not being able to supply enough milliamps.

The unit works great. We use with wireless in-ear monitor system as well. We first power the G-50 units on and let them fill the air with their transmission frequencies. Then we scan the environment with the in-ear monitor transmitters to see which frequencies are open (to avoid interference with each other). The in-ear units (made by Shure) will detect the G-50 frequencies and avoid them.

This worked find for the 6-string lead guitar. We then bought one for our bass guitarist - and it worked as well.

No noise. Excellent units.

Line 6 G50 Wireless

Works great with no problems. It's my second G50 and the two together on different channels have no interference. The second receiver can be used to drive a second amp with one transmitter . Nice compact unit.Read full review...

sound quality and build are excellent for this price point. Made a few adjustments on the belt clip and the battery compartment. Now the unit works flawlessly.

really fine transaction

My best wishes came true. I got practically new item with all stuff, but not "sealed".
It already works with me on scene. My profit ( if I would by the same in Moscow shop) is about USD 200...
That's all and let it be forever !Read full review...

Pro-Quality and sound without breaking the bank!

OK, So I have 2 of these ... I got a great deal on my 2nd one, so I bought the whole setup when all i wanted was a 2nd transmitter (so I can have a transmitter on 2 guitars on stage for faster instrument changes). When I bought it, i thought "its always great to have a spares and backup stuff" ... everything else has still yet to be even opened. lol ...

This unit is compact, is crystal clear, I have no issues with cutting out, I get about 7 hours play time out of 2 AA batteries. The transmitter is metal and rugged.

My ONLY beef .. and this is splitting hairs ... is that I like my transmitter to hang from my strap, and i just don't trust the belt clip, so I bought transmitter pouches for like $15 each.

I run this with a number of different guitars, both single coil and humbucker equipped and even on an acoustic. I run thru a Fractal Axe Fx II into a Matrix GT1000FX power amp into an Atomic CLR wedge. I sit this on top of my rack and run an 18" cable to the Axe Fx input. I have experimented with that hookup cable supplied by Gotham, Canare, Monster, Lave (ultramafic) and George L. No real audible difference. I THOUGHT that i heard the wireless as a little more 'crisp' .. but I likely could not pass a blindfold test trying to say if it was wireless or cable. Comparing the wireless to a cable between the guitar and Axe Fx, from the same brands, yeilded the same results.

I am not a pro player. I do not have any endorsements or affiliations with any manufacturers. I am in my mid 40s and still gig 50 or so shows a year as a (very semi) pro musician. HAHA. I am a self proclaimed tone junkie.

Line 6 G50 quality

I was a fan of line 6 for a long time. The G50 transmitter, however, is a poorly made product. The battery door is cheaply made and prone to break. Check the internet, there are countless reports of this. I also learned that Line 6 has virtually no customer support. I tried to buy a replacement part from them but... good luck with that. There is no one to communicate with that I could find. My only option it seems is to throw it away and buy an expensive replacement - not happening! Going to Shure, for sure. Customer Service is a must and so are well made products.Read full review...

Highly recommended

Recommended for local gigging musicians. This easy, lightweight, affordable wireless system has a great range (at least 100' unobstructed) and doesn't compromise tone.
