Don't hesitate for $100 or less

Nice product. About as loud as my Advent 100W computer speaker with the tonal character of my Altec Lansing but better, louder bass than the Altec 5" woofer. It's actually got a 7" but sounds convincingly as good as 8". Does sound better with a smidge of EQ as it is a tad overly sensitive in the midrange/500hz as mentioned in a couple of online reviews. I'm scooping out a couple of db (2) at 500hz and 1000hz and one at 250hz. I'm also boosting 2db at 62hz and it can also use a bit of boost above 10,000hz. Two extra db at 16khz is fine. This modest setting helps it from just sounding loud and bassy. I actually can notice the difference between a 128kbps MP3 and the higher bitrate/quality recordings which I could never hear on computer speakers before. I suppose this makes it worth a bit more than my previous $79 system, but how much I can't say. The wattage rating is a bit high to the point of being silly. There is no way possible to achieve ear-ringing volume levels with this. It is quite loud though as it will vibrate cd's, pens, etc off my desk at 3/4 volume. Plenty of potential for disturbing people in your house or building with late night listening. Also easily solved by turning down the bass knob to 1/4 or hitting them in the head with it. Should also be suitable for use with TV's in order to replace a soundbar or with mp3/discman for use as a mini-micro dorm room or bedroom system. If you don't like bass don't buy these.Read full review...

Left speaker distortion

You are taking a big risk buying this. As stated elsewhere on the internet, there is a design and/or assembly flaw in the left speaker. 2 leads go to the driver. Either one ( or both ) of these leads is too close to the spider portion of the speaker and causes sound distortion. Or the spider itself is a bad design. I deflected to leads away from the spider as much as I could, but distortion still exists at certain frequencies! Like I said, bad design or bad assembly. I would never recommend this system!Read full review...

nice sound with cord issues

First, the sound is way above average and volume gets louder than most. The subwoofer if far above average but if bass response is turned past 1/2 they tend to "rumble" in musical selections It becomes evident when a range of bass notes are played. However when it comes to nuances, especially in music, the Logitech Z623 underperforms resulting in a rather cold sound reproduction on the high end. I feel I am being overly critical by comparing them to my home system and please realize that ALL 2.1 computer speakers will not reach the top of the charts. I listened to Klipsch Promedia 2.1,Audioengine 5+, Bose Companion 2 Series ,Antec Soundscience Rockus 3D 2.1, and Corsair SP2200. with Audioengine 5+ being the best but at $400 vs $110 I choose the second best Logitech. Klipsch,Bose, Antec, and Corsair each have their highpoints and I must admit I went with Logictech for the 200 watts and sacrificed a tiny amount of quality in the high range of musical selections

My biggest PROBLEM with these speakers is that the cords are so short if you have even with a fair sized computer desk you may have to put the subwoofer behind the desk to still have the desktop satellites on each side of your monitor. That may be totally a unacceptable situation for some and either a money saving or very poor design issue by the manufacturer.

The Best Quality to Price Ratio for Computer Speakers

I wanted a set of speakers for my college dorm that would provide some power but more sound quality. This is quality, not only in production but the actual speakers produce good sound. My set had a problem with randomly shutting off, but after opening the sub up and checking all the connections, it seems to have stopped. Speaking of the subwoofer, these do have a lot of bass, and I have turned down the bass control to compensate. I haven't used many other computer speaker systems, but these seem to be far superior to most of the other options out them. When you go down in price, you definitely are sacrificing quality. Of course, these are vastly different than a receiver and quality towers or bookshelf speakers, but the compact design might be useful for some. Overall, I would recommend if only for the quality to price ratio.Read full review...

I only thought my Sub bumped B4

This 2.1 system is absolutely great! Haven't installed a decibel reader to find out the system's "Absolute Peak", but that's going on my To-Do list for tomorrow! Keep making awesome speakers! ( Pssst , Logitech... I love the attention To detail you have shown by setting the frequency range from 20 - 20,000 kHz)Read full review...

Very good quality sound, albeit not as loud or good as Promedia 2.1

As for clarity of sound, and even bass, I would defer to Promedia 2.1 (that I also have). However, the price is attractive. I would rate Promedia 2.1 a 9.5, and the logitech Z623 an 8.5. If it has Bluetooth (which the next version Z625 has), then it will garner a 9. Still a good set of speakers though.Read full review...

speaker system is very popular for good reason.

Speaker system produces nice full audio with deep punchy bass. Depending on your audio source & signal, this system can get pretty loud. I like it for playing along to my favorite artists online & I do this quite loud. It's such an improvement over my previous system.Read full review...

Solid build, Not best sounding but definitely the best value.

Room shaking bass but does not sound as good on lower volumes. When turned up you get a nice deep rumble. The satellite speakers however is a lot quieter than I had hoped for. I could still sit comfortably in front of them at max volume. The right speaker has all the controls as well as a headphone and audio in jack allowing for easy connection to laptops and mp3 players. The weight of the speakers/bass and the rubber feet keep them in the exact place you put them.Read full review...

Good but not amazing.

My old Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers lasted me 26 years and were amazing. I bought these based on price and decent reviews. The sound is not as good overall as my old speakers but using WINAMP equalizer software tweeking, I have these speakers sounding as good or maybe better than my old ones. A keeper! Hope they last...Read full review...

I did Heavy research before I bought these. And as far as I can tell, these are by far the Best Buy out there.Read full review...

Great Computer Desktop Speaker System!

I replaced a very old Logitech Computer Speaker System that had a humming noise at idle. The new one works great for me. No noise unless audio is pushed through. More than loud enough and subwoofer does it's job!Read full review...
