I already had a logitech harmony HUB and remote control, after many years of use my remote control stopped working the touch screen and as this product is not manufactured anymore I bought this used Hub and Remote to substitute the old one.
I love my harmony Elite Remote and HUB, they are the best, easy and powerfull remote control for all my equipments.
I have a receiver, a TV, a TV Box, a Google TV stick, a DVD Player (yes, very old) and all of them are easily controlled with this Logitech Harmony.

Harmony Elite - capable and simple

I had to replace my Pronto Pro's universal remotes because they couldn't learn the codes for newer devices. Though there's a learning curve if you want to tap into the full power of the Harmony Elite, it was worth it.

The Elite is a right-sized device and with RF to the hub (which then transmits IR to the controlled devices), you never have to worry about pointing it or even being in the same room. Battery life is about three-five days under what I call normal use. Keep the charging base handy.

Best remote I have ever used

I had a harmony Ultimate with a hub and it started having issues so I picked the elite. It's a much more ergonomic remote. Didnt even have to use the computer to program it. I set it up with my phone. It was quick and easy. I also found out I can control my lights and thermostat too. Again it's so easy to program and it also very customizable. I've had a Logitech Harmony Elite remote/hub for a couple of years and bought this second one for a second TV setup. Great phone app, easy to set up using a massive database of AV and home control devices that Logitech maintains.

Using the hub paired with IR Blasters that plug into the hub, you can easily set up control of your system. The remote communicates to the hub via RF (radio) and the hub uses IR and BT to communicate to AV/home control devices.Read full review

I am pretty well versed in harmony products and I find them easy to program. For direct tv I reprogrammed the Menu button to bring up the list, since I use that function a lot. The Harmony Hub receives commands from the Harmony app through the internet and transmits them either by IP address or by infrared signal to the devices you want to control. With the hub, any device such as a tablet or smartphone on the same WiFi network can act as a Harmony remote. I placed the hub on the shelves where my HDTV, receiver, satellite box, Roku device, and DVD player sit. The hub sends a signal strong enough to control them all. Setup isn't difficult using the MyHarmony program on my Windows PC. It will also migrate activities and devices from any remote you connect to your PC during setup.
