Not bad!

I thought I’d get the same book cover as it showed in the picture instead I got a different cover, but it’s alright. It’s a bit damaged around the corners but the inside is fine.

Very interesting

This was bought for my granddaughter's school work. She thought it was very good, well written and that the guy was creepy.

Very good?

Wouldn’t say the condition is very good, the cover has been better days and there seems to be water damage. Acceptable would have been better.

Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

An interesting novel but not to everyone's liking. You need to be able to see beyond the destructive relationship between step father and daughter to appreciate the quality of the writing in this modern classic.Read full review...

Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

I completely love this book, and haven't even reached the half way point. It has a humourous technique bestowed upon it, yet still holds up the shocking value that it should, being based on a sexual predator's need to possess a 12 year old girl. Lolita is protrayed as someone I definitely did not expect - rather than a bashful girl, shy of H. Humbert's advances, she takes them on with full stride, and is even more eager than he is. Humbert also does not appear as what one would expect, as he repeatedly claims he is good-looking, and appealing to many women - although, we can definitely see his egotistical nature again and again. The events that occur often remind me of The Great Gatsby, and always keeps you on your toes for what will happen next. I can not wait to see how the novel ends.Read full review...
