I grew up listening to the Joni Mitchell who we thought of as being a "folksinger" in the same vein as Bob Dylan being a "folksinger". There was a lot more going on there I never even noticed until I had listened to a few thousand hours of d*mn near every kind of music. Back in those days of youthful ignorance and certitude,I thought her moving into jazz was something that "didn't work, even though I thought I was listening to and getting Trane and Monk and Pharoah Sanders. Well this artist is original - period. And oh so much fun and such an utterly unique beauty of thought, and voice and imagination, and art .

Listen to this from the beginning to the end as the artist arranged it. You'll hear the continuity and the continuing innovation and that amazing voice. Great set of a variety of Joni's style's & songs. I bought the set used and it was a bit dirty both the cover and the CDs, but they cleaned up fairly well.
