Grateful I Found This Crystal Book

I like this book. I originally wanted the ORIGINAL book that weighs ten pounds but couldn't find one for less than $280. So I purchased this updated one without the photos of the crystals. It's not an exhaustive crystal encyclopedia, but it does have a lot of crystals and information for each one of the crystals mentioned. Good informative metaphysical content. This book is missing crystals, such as Shungite for example, but I'm so grateful I found this book.Read full review

When I got it there was a signature from the author in the front but other than that there were no notes; the corners on the bottom were slightly "used". Melody is the gold standard for gemstone reference material. My original copy of Love is in the Earth was "borrowed" five years ago, leaving me with a gaping hole in my reference book collection.
Unlike her competitors, Melody steers clear of waffle and jargon, leaving her narrative engaging for both esoteric crystal lovers and those more interested in the science/technical aspect of gemstones.
Unlike her competitors, Melody doesn't try to trademark poor crystals under different names simply to make a name for herself, and she hasn't bought out 5 subsequent volumes to cover the full spectrum of specimens like others who were in a rush to profit and released incomplete books.
The narrative for each mineral is accurate, informative and succinct which keeps the reader on point.
