My aunt bought me this book originally in 1994. I read this book to my oldest son almost every night although he didn't care for my singing the i love you forever song he loved the story & illustrations in 2001 I had my 2nd son & again read it to him almost every night he loved it in 2006 after moving cross country i lost the book but could recite it word for word my boys are now 24 16 & 11 & still ask me to tell them the story. As a retired teacher, I used to read this book to my 2nd grade class. However, I couldn't find this book amongst my other books in my office bookcase, so that's why I ordered this book!
However, I thought I was getting a brand new book, but instead it's a used one. On the inside of the cover page, someone has written their name and then scribbled it out with a pen. I put a sticker over the scribbled name so my granddaughters would think this is a new book!Read full review

I sent this to my niece as a baby shower gift. I hope it arrived at her address as she could not carry her baby shower gifts on the airplane. I haven't heard anything but the baby is due soon! So, they're probably busy getting the nursery together and Dr. appts. more frequent as the baby gets closer to making her entrance into this world. I hope she likes it as. much as my son did. Best book for parents to read to young children.

This is the story of a mother and her son. It starts when the boy is a baby. It ends when he is a grown man with a family of his own. Love you forever is the poem the mother received every night to her son. The book ends with the man holding his mother in his arms and reciting the poem to her. This book is actually one of my favorites I read it and also towards the end for some reason I begin to feel emotional like this is the second time that I felt that way since I have read it. But how ever this is a really interesting book and it just shows how much she loved her son.
