Solid, good quality hub

Instructions a little vague, however, after a short you tube video it becomes easy to set up and use. Solid, stable product.

Well made, good value product

I haven’t used the jig yet, just getting it set up. Well built, all fixings and adjustment systems are well made and set up. I fully anticipate that it will do everything I want it to do .

Good tool but free cutter not fir for purpose.

All round, a good product. the quality seems quite good and is good enough for amateur/hobbyist use. It could have limited use in the professional field too if push comes to shove. The setting up instructions are comprehensive and easy to follow.
However, the "free" dovetail cutter is highly suspect.
The unit was set up as per the instructions and a test carried out on a couple of pieces of scrap timber. The result was not encouraging.
If the router is set so that the guide bearing on the cutter shank is in between the fingers on the guide, the cutter is too deep resulting in the tails on the vertical piece of timber being larger than the cutouts in the horizontal timber. If the router depth is reduced to sort out the problem, the guide bearing on the cutter shank does't engage with the guide fingers. This could be resolved by raising the guide fingers by putting a washer under the fixing bolts but this begs the question as to whether or not unit should be necessary on a brand new unit.
The problem seems to lie with the cutter, which on examination has the part of the shank above the flutes of the cutter chewed away. Unfortunately, this is where the guide bearing should be.
The cutter is therefore faulty. Perhaps this is why it is free.
Until a new cutter can be sourced an purchased, the unit is on the shelf unused which is a bit of a disappointment to say the least.

NB Update on situation.

Contacted Toolsave. Their Technical Department have picked up on the cutter cutter problem and they agree that the free cutter is no good. They have been in contact with the supplier and replacements are being sourced. Unfortunately, the replacements are going to be about 3-4 weeks away.
Let's hope that the current COVID-19 situation does't put the boot in.

Easy to set up and well built.

A heavy well built jig easy to set up, only bad point was the comb needed to be lightly de-burred I feel this should have been done at the manufacturing stage, otherwise a good piece of equipment I can recommend. Read full review...

Get ready to pull your hair out.

The comb is roughly made and needs to be smoothed, The cutter supplied with 1/2" bearing will never cut dovetails you will need to buy a guide bush so frustrating, still in the process of working out the correct guideRead full review...

Don’t waste your money on this jig

Made the mistake of buying something cheap. Set jig up carefully but cutter provided is wrong so machine was never going to cut dovetails that fit together. Needs a smaller guide bearing. Buy a jig from a manufacturer that provides the right bits so it works as it should.Read full review...
