Best value high end card

The biggest plus of this card is its performance. Its 3Dmark (tm Passmark) performance is equal to the 3090 Ti's - the top model of the previous generation of Nvidia graphics cards. It is also 11% better than the immediate predecessor - the RTX 4070 (plain / Non-Super).

A big advantage is the power rating of the 4070 Super - 220W is less than half of what the 3090 Ti uses. Good for the purse and good for the planet. And does not require a super expensive Power supply either.

The only draw back in comparison to the 3090 Ti is the 50% smaller Video RAM - 12 GB instead of 24. There is however not much software around which requires more than 12 GB.

The current new price is very acceptable when compared with other cards in this performance range.

Used ones trade at ebay at about a 15% discount to new..

In my experience the MSI model discussed here is a flawless implementation of a board hosting this GPU. With its 242 mm length it fits into many Micro-ATX cases and does not get too hot.
