one of the best feel good sitcoms of the time, perhaps of all time.
Friends is the 'go to; sitcom everybody talks about, but during that time period there were a number of great sitcoms, Fraiser, Caroline in the city and Mad about you.
'Mad' has a engaging set of regular characters who revolve around the lives of Paul and Jamie Buchman, as with all good comedies the humour seems effortless..you actually start to think Helen Hunt and Paul Rieser are married.
The series featured many guest stars, Adam Ruck, Mal Brooks and Bruce Willis to name just three. The format was never stale with Flashback and fantasy episodes but at its core it was a feel good drama about a couple who loved each other. Oh the days of video tape rental and not having a cell phone, when life was not as rushed or trending it just was. This show is great representation of that time and is an outstanding show with many many great cameo's and laugh out loud moments. This show reminds me, of how truly great a television can be. Not this reality dreck that floods the market today, Mad About you is a finely constructed three act half hour sitcom, delivered by an outstanding cast, crew. You know what the result is? Nice to have full series
I enjoy watching Mad About You and have collected the seasons as they came out. I was thrilled to hear that the full series was coming out and the price tag was really not too high. (Originally I had read that it was going to be $70, so $40 is nothing.). The only drawback is the quality of the picture on the last 2 seasons, and to be honest I haven't checked the first 5 seasons because I hadn't watched the final seasons on DVD yet.
If you're a fan of the show, I would definitely recommend buying it.Read full review

The show of course is great. The DVD video quality is just okay – certainly watchable, but lower than typical DVD quality, with some noticeable compression artifacts. The case is really cheap, just cardboard inserts. I would actually prefer Tyvek sleeves in terms of protecting the DVDs.Read full review

Funny in New York City
One of the funniest sitcoms I've ever watched. Maybe a little heavy on the New York City neurotic school of humor, but that never hurt Seinfeld, and besides, all of my Mom's sisters lived in NYC.
