My favourite Madame Butterfly
This version of my favourite opera is so much more realistic !
Instead of an often overweight and middle aged prima donna, we have an enchanting Chinese young lady taking the lead role, with a beautiful voice, who I could believe to be a young bride.
All the supporting cast are great and the backgrounds are lovely.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this, and recommend it to all.Read full review

This film version of Madam Butterfly is far better than any stage production. The voices may not be the greatest but the actors fit the roles.
It's not actually "better than expected" but it is better than "OK". I use to have this version of the opera on VHS unil the tape was spoilt. I liked the film version so much that I ordered the DVD from you. So, it is not "better than expected" except that there are additions which were not available on the VHS, such as the conversation with Ying Huang.Read full review
