Great show! Its kind of a drama with a little laughter thanks to G W Bailey. I was a "Closer" fan and was upset when it changed to Major Crimes, but Major Crimes is just a good as the "Closer" was. Both were the best shows on TV. Nothing on TV now compares to these shows. Excellent writers and excellent actors.Read full review

A continuation of The Closer but with less punch. It can make some characters annoying as they have become stock rather than potential for the plot.
There are skips and pixel scrambles on some of the discs and this is a sealed package advertised as new. It is disappointing as it breaks up viewing entire episodes that are linked with continuing plots. The product appears legitimate and new but it simply is uneven in performance. Buyer beware. I don't find much to watch on TV these days. It's all this dating, hook up stuff. It is drivel. Give me older series that are interesting and well written.
I love murder mysteries. That's what I buy these days for entertainment. My generation just isn't into reality shows. "MAJOR CRIMES" IS A GREAT FOLLOW-UP SERIES FOR FANS OF "THE CLOSER"
I was a fan of THE CLOSER for its entire run and the character of Sharon Raydor was introduced in The Closer and when The Closer ended, it was a natural spin off to continue the Major Crimes division with MAJOR CRIMES; headed by Captain Sharon Raydor.
MAJOR CRIMES carries over many of the characters we came to know and love and a couple we love to despise. But, it introduces new characters as well. The best thing about the spin off MAJOR CRIMES is that it is a stand-alone series. You don't have to know the characters from the previous series to enjoy the series and as the series unfolds you get the background of the characters as well.
Nicely written and well acted, I surely recommend it for fans of police drama. It's not SVU, it's not CSI; this show as well as THE CLOSER are in their own category of serial drama with some humor thrown in.Read full review

Some of the discs go into a pause/restart action. One required playing over and over to get a smooth play. Not all the discs did this.
The series itself is fine. I wanted it. Just have not enjoyed the play of the discs at times.

Awesome to watch!! The show picks up exactly where the closer stopped and its great. The only thing I miss is the banter between the two lieutenants. I think they should have kept them chasing women.
