I bought this radio and CD player to link into my tv. The great speakers deliver excellent sound, much better than the TV's rather tinny sounding speakers. The CD player is simple to use and the DAB radio delivers a clear, strong signal and is easy to navigate. Good quality, excellent style, amazing price.Read full review

poor reception
Looks great but both FM and DAB receprion really poor. Couldn't even pick up Radio 4 on FM when all my other radios do it perfectly and DAB only found 4 stations when my little portable finds dozens. And there is only the buit in aerial no socket to use an external aerial.
Only buy it if you live in a location with perfect recption.
On the plus side a quick refund received.

Good looking with good features
Dissapointed with the DAB and FM radio, poor reception in my living room, have tried in various places but unable to get a good reception, works fine upstairs though. CD, USB and Bluetooth work well, very good sound.
Since writing the above review, I have put the radio into my tv unit and pointed the aerial towards the TV aerial and it now works fine. Could it be possible for the manufacturers to put a socket for a radio aerial to be put in the back of the unit, this would help in areas with poor reception.Read full review

I love this radio! I wanted a Bluetooth speaker for the kitchen that was mains powered but when I saw this DAB digital radio with Bluetooth and CD player I couldn't resist. It was more than I wanted to spend but I am so pleased I did. The sound quality is great and it was SO easy to set up and to use. Searched and read plenty of reviews some of which was more expensive than the oakington for a quality piece of kit to replace my old Cambridge audio radio for the kitchen.
I took a punt on the oakington given the price and reviews thinking the sound quality won’t be as good as many have said. True to form... it’s fantastic quality and if you’re a music purist you will enjoy the crisp clear and bass-levelling sound. The Oakington DAB is a lovely looking radio theres no doubt about that, but its let down by the poor sounding speakers as the sound is all over the place with little bass and not much you can do to change this except for the presets, for a little more money there is better out there.
Its got everything you would come to expect, Bluetooth, USB, CD and DAB which all work well but the DAB radio can be a bit flakey at times, and the writing on the screen is clear enough which is one of its stronger points.
The remote is clear enough but can be a bit fiddly but more than acceptable.

I bought this to replace my old radio CD as the CD had failed after at least 20 years. There
were many to select from, some much cheaper and some considerably more expensive. I bought this one after reading through the reviews. The basic use is very simple but it does take a while to get used to getting the hang of setting up the pre-sets.
