As with all Makita tools, this is an excellent quality piece of kit. I already had the batteries for other tools, so this was a very good buy. I cannot rate the LXT range highly enough, and even though I am used to the power of all my other gear, I was surprised at how easily this cuts through timber. An excellent tool at a good price.

This is another Makita gem. It is neat, compact and lightweight but it packs a lot of power.
All the adjustment controls are easy, making it quick to see what you're doing. I love the little spotlight on the cutting point, for instance.

Great bit of kit

I got this saw for the list of jobs I had to do, and although maybe it is a bit “too pro” for me I am glad I got it. I have other Makita tools, and because the same batteries can be used in all it seemed like a better idea to keep within the system.
Performance wise this is excellent, and I like the brake feature which improves the safety element. It clears the dust away well from the cutting area so you can see where you are going, and the light works well too. The 57mm cutting depth handles pretty much everything you need to do, and I think if you were doing big stuff regularly you would have a bigger saw anyway.
