Great Shifter for the $$

This shifter is a reverse engineered copy of the shifter Hurst made for the Cobalt SS. The Hurst version vs the Manzo version have about the same build quality, but the Hurst was much more expensive and is no longer in production. Therefore, the Manzo version is a win-win. I removed the reverse lockout feature and added a custom shift knob. Installation is straightforward, there are how-to guides on miscellaneous forums if you need help.Read full review...

For the price, I would recommend this shifter.

Nice shifter... easy installation... had to file stock mounting plate to get over shifter and reverse lockout doesn't do anything. You will have to get used to finding reverse and 5th gear. There wasn't any installation instructions.Read full review...

Very surprised.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got my shifter today, despite there being no instructions you can watch one online it's basically the same deal. It feels good and is smooth to shift, I have to say the shift ball is a bit big for my liking I enjoyed the stock size but it's no deal.breaker. Now onto the one and only problem.i have with the design of this shifter, now I understand that for under 100$ this is a steal but to install this WITHOUT having to modify any oem parts the have to remove the reverse lockout and to do that you have to hammer out a roll pin..... I feel like there is a much better solution for that but like.i said it's under 100$ so what can you do. Overall I 100% recommend this shifter. (It was installed in a 2007 cobalt ss/sc)Read full review...

Needs to be sanded to fit properly, and the reverse lockout is held in with a pin that that you have to use a punch to remove so that you can install the boot. Works fine but poorly designed. Don’t expect it to drop in.Read full review...

It works but its cheap

The reverse lockout no longer works because its not the right size. Corners on the reverse lockout are also very sharp and ended up ripping my shift boot.

Perfect fit in a 2005 SAAB 9-3!

When it comes to modifying a SAAB you better have deep pockets! The only short shifter that specifically mentions fitting a SAAB is a $250 TMW performance shifter. After some research I discovered that the cobalt SS/ion redline and the HHR SS have identical shift assembly as the SAAB 9-3!! I went out on a whim and purchased this shifter ( on ebay). When it arrived in began "ripping" my car apart to install this short shifter! The most difficult part of the entire installation is removing the stock Shift knob from the stock shift assembly. I spent about 3 hours trying to get that dang thing off with no success. I ended up using a valve spring compressor tool to get it off. From that point on installation went SUPER smooth. This specific kit doesn't include instructions. Conveniently TMW has downloadable instructions on their website on how to install the shifter kit (identical installation). The only issue I encountered was having to adjust the shifter cable on the far left. That allowed me to put the car in fifth an reverse. It's been installed for about a day now and I've enjoyed every moment of driving the car! If you have a 2003-2007 SAAB 9-3 with the F35 five speed transmission I HIGHLY suggest you get this beauty of a modification! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!Read full review...

Scrap metal

This thing is junk. do yourself a favor and save your money for a legit shifter. after fitting this shifter into the car i realized it is actually has the same factory throw and the revers lock out no does not work, which throws off your ability to put the car into 5th gear. Save your money and get a ZZP or OTTP short shifter.

great product....looks and feels excellent

Great low cost product for Saab 9-3. Almost a perfect fit. Could use some improvements to work flawless with a 9-3. But works for the most part...for now.

Save money for a TWM Shifter

Alot of modifications need to be done to make this work. I had to shave off numerous plastic bits off my shifter assembly to get it to work properly. There isn't anything else included. No bushings especially.Read full review...

Have to take it apart to get the shifter piece on

Had to remove the pin out of the shifter to get the base of the top off and it snapped on me.
