Very Impressed!!
This was my first recap and I wasn't sure if I wanted to try and source everything out myself. This kit came with everything needed to make my 1060 sing again. Instructions where easy to fallow and very informative....if your a novist like myself the Instructions alone are worth the money. Hoping he has a kit to do my 4240 now!😉😊Read full review...

"Not what I expected"
Unfortunately, the power button required replacing on the 2nd day of use. After removing the cover, seeing the corrosion on the framework and the years of accumulated dust, I doubt I would have made the purchase initially. However, after finding a reasonable power switch alternative and a little cleaning, inside and out, the unit works. In terms of the sound quality, I'm not that impressed, but, it's "decent".Read full review...

Just another Japanese amplifier.
Japanese Marantz electronics are run of the mill, average with that typical Japanese grungy sound. Marantz electronics of this era from Japan are pretty to look at and built well enough. Keep in mind, Superscope made these for Marantz and who owned the Superscope mfg plants? Sony. These as electronics are rather pedestrian, and offer NOTHING more than a premium price based off nostalgia for Saul Marantz and his true offerings like the 1, 7, 5 8b and 9's. If you approach lofi to midfi as anything consumer directed from Japan, the person who looks to a Marantz anything made in Japan would be better served buying HK, Sony ES, Pioneer, Project One, Qudraflex Reference, SAE, Kyocera and Nakamichi. Better or equal sound from these marques can be achieved for half on average. Do I buy busted Marantz or purchase it when I find it cheap? You bet. It's an easy sale to audio novices who are inspired by pretty faceplates and blue back-lit dials. I currently own a couple or these and Marantz receivers...all which sound, OK. Buy yourself a NAD 3020 which although poorer made sounds almost like Hi-Fidelity. Read full review...

The right stuff
All the parts I had trouble finding for this repair in one package. The amplifier is ready to go back to its owner, and he is very pleased.

Sweet vintage looks with badly soured sound...
The unit failed soon after I received it and is unusable--very frustrating and upsetting...
