Good Fishing Device

I used this hook tying device when they first came out and never bought hooks to nylon again. I gave up fishing about 20 years ago but recently out of the blue used my stepsons whip and guess what have got the fishing bug. The hook tying device has been one of my first purchases.
Brilliant bit of kit and easy to use 👍👍

Small hook Tyler ?

I think the product is good for most hooks, however it's just a bit wide for the smaller hooks. I would like to see a thinner version to make it easier to tie small hooks.

Matchman hook tier..

I have used these hook tiers since the nineties and can't fish without one, I usually lose them at some point but always keep a spare one in my tackle box, a must have and a great item for tieing any size hook down to size 24 for great presentation.Read full review

original and the best

I have used the Matchman for many years, tried alternatives but found the Matchman's design is overall better. My last one lasted for years until sadly lost, replacement Drennan although easy to use and good design did not last as with wear the hook grip pressure becomes loose.Read full review

Great value but could be made in a Rustless Metal version.

I have used this product for many decades , have just purchased a new one as the top half of the clamp on my old one had snapped , Could i suggest a stronger hook tyer may be stainless steel or aluminium or brass Which would last a long time and less likely to break if accidentally over tightened clamping larger hooks.Read full review

Hook tyre and more

Had one of these over forty years ago and found it tied hooks to nylon perfectly . Having purchased another after all this time it can now be used to tie knotless knot fixed length hair rigs and custom hair lengths and even loops onto hook shanks. Excellent bit of kit and to think I only bought it this time around to use as a hook clamp for sharpening hooksRead full review

Matchman hook tyer, takes a bit of practice

When I received the tyer I thought would be tying hooks straight away but I found out that it takes a while to get it right. Now, I wouldn't be without it.A cheap but essential tool in my fishing box.Read full review

Why change

Been using this hook tier since they first came out more years ago than I can remember.Never seen a reason to change,The metal bits do rust after time but I just buy a couple more they don’t cost much more than a packet of hooks.Read full review
