I have been recording with Maxell cassette tapes for 40 years. To my amazement, they still play and record correctly. If you keep your high end cassette decks serviced as needed, the tapes just keep on playing. I`ve pulled out Maxell tapes that I haven`t played in decades and they still sound as good as the day I made the recording.

Some of my other tapes made by lesser brands have come apart at the end of playing making them useless. Their sound quality suffered as well. I`ve had very good results using Maxell tapes and these XLII-S Made in Japan are some of the best. Read full review
