Maxell 861053 MXSB - 252BT 2.1 Soundbar (70 watts) with Remote and Bluetooth

Surprisingly sharp sound from such a slim design!

After reading some online reviews I decided to buy this in the expecting that it might improve the sound quality from my LCD TV, & so far, am not disappointed. Paid £35 + some p&p charges, am very pleased with it. Very slimline design, which is very discreet (my better half didn't notice it was there for the first few days!). I know some have commented on the Bass levels not being great, but I found them adequate for the size of my room, The remote is a bit small & I have misplaced it more than once already!
Only caveat is when I connected the unit via the headphone jack onto my Philips TV the sound level was quite poor, which seems to be a fault of the TV, possibly a deliberate limiting of the max volume on the part of Philips. Instead I connected to the outputs on the satellite box & this sorted it.
Bluetooth works well with my iphone & android tablet.
Have connected the optical input into a Sony PS I use as a DVD player, but haven't had a chance to check this out, but expect it to be satisfactory:)Read full review

Crystal clear sound

Don't expect a high bass volume.
The remote control is tiny and gets lost easily.
You have to hold down the buttons on the unit and remote to operate.
I got it at £45.
I don't think it's worth much more.

Excellent Value for Money

Bought as a Christmas present. Both my daughter and I have the same LG TV so setting up was easy. The remote control has a learning feature that allows both TV and soundbar can be turned on/off from the same control. Did not try out the BT feature but used the included optical cable to connect TV and soundbar together. On Christmas day It was simply plugged in and everything worked flawlessly. Great improvement over TV sound. Let down by volume level when used with optical cable. Goes much louder with RCA phono cables or Bluetooth . At this price definitely worth the purchase though.

Good soundbase

Takes optical input (so works with Samsung TV that only has optical output), turns on and off automatically with the TV, the sound is fine (I think it sounds best with the base on maximum). I put it on a couple of battens just to get a bit more clearance for the woofer underneath. Has worked fine for the 2 weeks I've had it so far. £50 is a good price for it.Read full review
