Does What You Need

They Work. They're not flimsy, they apply good pressure.
The quality isn't great but that doesn't seem to really make a difference to how they perform. If you're looking at this set then chances are you don't need 'good' clamps just a lot of them, and these will do fine! for what you get the price is extraordinary, makes me think the big brands really are taking the Piss.

I'd echo what other reviewers have said, glue the red jaw shoes on if you want them to stay on.

Great bang for the buck!!

I wasn't expecting great things for the price, just needed lots of clamps but they were actually better than anticipated! My only two quibbles (hence the 4 stars) are the rectangular pads on the fixed ends all had to be araldited in place to prevent them coming away at inopportune moments and one of the small clamps didn't have a rivet to prevent the sliding portion coming coming completely off the rail, soon fixed with a rivet of my own!
All in all, they work well and clamp sooooo much harder than the speedy clamps!
If you need lots of clamps for a reasonable price you can't go far wrong with these!

Great value set of clamps;

Pros: These are light weight, quick and easy to use and the selection of 12 clamps in 3 different sizes make these my first choice for the majority of obs where clamps are needed.

I use them for clamping carpentry joints during gluing up and they perform well

At the price I paid, they are excellent value for money.

These clamps look like they will be durable provided they are cared for but suspect they will not withstand prolonged abuse.

Cons: There are some slight downsides with these clamps. These were not a major problem for me but if you are thinking of getting these clamps, be aware of what you are buying.
- The plastic covers on the jaws are a poor fit. They fall off easily and could easily become lost. I stuck them all on with contact adhesive as soon as I received them and recommend you do the same. Use contact adhesive, superglue, duck tape or anything you have to hand which will hold them in place.

- The plastic covers on the jaws are flimsy – I do not expect them to last very long. When I received my clamps, I cut a few spare covers from scrap hardboard and keep them handy. (Each piece is slightly larger than the jaw-face it will cover). When a plastic cover gives up the ghost, I will glue on one of the hardboard pieces – it can be done while clamping during a joinery gluing operation. (I regard this as routine maintenance for most types of clamps – regardless of quality.)

- The jaws of the clamps are poorly aligned. Not a problem for me as they have worked fine for everything I have used them for. I doubt it will be a problem for most people.

- These clamps are not heavy duty (they do not claim to be). If you need something which will take a lot of abuse and/or take a lot of weight and/or need to have a lot of torque applied during clamping you should be prepared to pay more for something beefier. As I say above these are fine for general carpentry joinery.

General:
If you have a few clamps, I strongly recommend making some racking for them. They are much easier to use if stored by size so you can quickly grab the clamps you need. They will fare better (i.e. last much longer) if stored sensibly rather than mixed together with other tools. There are plenty simple designs for clamp storage systems (both mobile and workshop options) available on the web. None will cost much to make in tems of time, materials or money.

Good set for a very reasonable price.

I started using these clamps from the moment they arrived and they've done well. The shoes on the clamps come off easily but I've uses some glue to fix them in place and so far they haven't fallen off.Read full review...

Lightweight small clamps suitable for light weight tasks. Have proved very useful and definitely value for money if you need lots of clamps. The plastic protectors need gluing on to stop them from falling off.Read full review...

clamptastic

I bought these clamps at £30, and they are fantastic value. As others have said, if you want the red feet to stay on then glue them, they are just friction fit and do fall off.

Okay clamps, excellent price

First things first, they work fine, but they are far from great. That exert force well and don't come undone on their own.

On the downside, their alignment between the pad and the screw isn't great, so you have to be careful that they aren't skewing the workpiece, though there isn't a trend between them so they seem to even out in groups. The pads are also not very grippy, so things can slide, though that wasn't helped by my shiny melamine workbench.

When it comes to clamping, you always either need one good clamp or many okay ones, usually the latter. These fill that role well, at a great price.
