Simple to make good coffee.with a Melitta.

Easy to prepare good coffee with this maker using many types of coffee grinds and brands with any paper or metal filter. Whatever your taste, just use a decent type coffee and fresh, neutral water (no chlorine or off-tasting tap water). I've been using this type of pour-over maker for decades with good results, Water temp. is best at about 190-205 F. Scald the maker before use, Clean up is simple. My only caution is to be careful with the carafe because it is very fragile and must not be used on a heated burner at any time.Read full review

Glass carafe

unhappy about not being able to warm up on gas or electric stove I have to pour into a cup and microwave it to warm it up to drink any after first cup.I will not be using it long i will find a different coffee pot soon.
The carafe should be a stronger glass that can be placed over heat.

Melitta review

Paper cone drip is better tasting coffee than you can by most places. I tried French press and like that coffee too. However, I find paper cone actually less wasteful than French press despite common opinion. Cleaning up the grounds from French press very wasteful of water. Also need paper towels as cloth towels horrible for cleaning up grounds. With Melitta, remove paper cone and throw out. Much less water used to clean.Read full review

Makes great coffee

This makes great pour over coffee! Big filter holder, uses #4 Melitta filters which are a little cheaper and easier to find in generic brands. Filter holder and carafe are easy to clean. Size is just right for me, I fill to 4 cup level and it fills a 16oz travel mug.Read full review

Genuine Melitta

Have been struggling with a off brand plastic cone for way too long. This genuine Melitta is what I should have purchased long ago. Everybody sells Melitta filters and they are the best, but if you try to use them in other plastic cones it becomes a challenge to get a proper flow. The Mellita cone has the proper ribs so you just put #6 Melitta filter in the logical way and it works the way it should.
Other cones, unless you put the filter in crosswise just a certain way you get almost no flow and you end up with a lake of mud.

Great coffee, easy to clean

Can't beat a Melitta for everyday great coffee. I have a Cuisinart grind n'brew which makes great coffee but is a royal pain to clean, and I have a Kuerig that can't be truly cleaned out..leaving you wondering what's growing inside. For the rare times when I need 12 cups, the grind n'brew is faster and worth the trouble, but for the other 360 days a year when I make 4-6 cups, the Melitta is great.Read full review

qiick and easy

If you are just wanting a couple of cups of coffee and don't want to brew a whole pot this is a great way to do it. For an after dinner coffee, or a cup with a friend this is the way to go. Personally I just drink two cups in the morning so to brew a whole pot is a waste. I can make just two cups of good coffee.Read full review

HOW DOES IT WORK?

It’s a really slick brewer. You need to experiment with how much ground coffee to use but once you get it, you’ll know. Just don’t use the cheap coffee, it won’t make cheap coffee taste great.

I’m using 8 level table spoons to 32 ounces of water and this is making better tasting coffee than the high end drip makers I’ve used in the past. Even with the proper cleaning of the drip makers, I always tasted the scale building up in the tank. With the Melitta, no tank!

The mouth is too small to get my hand inside to clean so I just use a brush. I clean the rest by hand. Pretty simple really.

It’s not a 12 cup brewer and it takes a little longer than a drip maker but it’s well worth trying if you want a really good tasting cup of coffee. Follow the instructions and you won’t be disappointed.

Good coffee made simple, quality piece, price is right!

Very good quality glass and plastic (made in Canada!) but this is about as basic as they come and requires some manual work (pouring two conefuls of hot water to make two mugs of coffee). You have to wait a minute or so while the water filters through the coffee. If you love coffee it's worth the wait, and it's kind of fun to get back to basics every morning instead of color-coded Nespresso capsules and electronics for breakfast..Read full review

Neat.. Handy ...

I love these - they are small enough not to take up too much room on the counter, and I purchased it as I have a gas stove, and if and when the electric goes out, I can still make coffee, or even use the boiled water for whatever! It has been rated as one of the better "coffee makers" - this is my second one - I keep one on the boat.Read full review
