Good product
This item is comparable to others with more expensive products. It is excellent for outputting accurate voltage. Unfortunately it does not have a current limiter that can be set. The unit itself seem well built and the casing very sturdy. Generall I am pleased with the purchase for the price.Read full review...

nice variable regulating power supply
this power supply is very good for testing and running up to 15 volt 2 amp direct current motors, ei. model railway, scalectric. most toys.
you will need 2 wire 4 mm banana connections with 2 crocodile, these are 1 red and 1 black.
it will find (open circuits), (short circuits) and intermitant faults on circuits.
must observe (polarity) positive to positive and negative to negative. reversal of polarity will cause damage to electronic items, radios, small amplifiers etc, etc.
method of use:
when testing or running model motors turn the knob to zero volts then connect the motor and move the knob slowly and observe the right hand meter (amps) if this moves and the (volts) don't then there is a (short circuit). do not put any more power into the motor, or, circuit. (( must not exceed 2 amps )) will damage output transister on the rear of the variable power supply.
most 12 volt motors will work from 4 volt to 20 volt and the amps should be around 0.30 - 0.40 mAMPS. the amp meter will jump up and down if the motor starts and stops the amp meter will show (inermitant) connection, may have dirty commutator or loose brushes, bad connection
